Walk-in coolers by nature can not be fire rated enclosures. You can purchase fire rated walk-in doors where a walk-in is built outside a building and penetrates into a rated structure like many chain restaurants have, but it is rare and very expensive. Walk-in coolers and freezers are commonly equipped with dry sprinklers. This has been standard practice since the mid 1980's. |
